Welcome to the Oxford School of Psychiatry

Our School was set-up in April 2008. In addition to promoting awareness of the School, the purpose of this site is to share with the Public, School Members (Trainers and Trainees) and prospective School Members information on the School's activities and Training Programmes.

Working with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, our key aim is to maintain and develop the quality of Learning and Development delivered by the School through bringing together the learning community from across the Training trusts and Oxford University Department of Psychiatry. The Trusts include:

This site includes information on School Personnel, Training Programmes and Providers. In addition we provide information on recruitment to our School.

For School Members, this site provides information on Induction and Learning Resources, opportunites for trainee and trainer discussion and up to date Bulletins from School Personnel and Trainee Representatives.

The School supports training opportunities in psychiatry for trainees in Foundation Years, those who want to pursue an academic career and those who wish to pursue less than full-time training. Many of the Trusts provide training opportunities in General Practice in addition. Our website provides links to these Schools and the Oxford University Clinical Academic School.

The School aims to deliver training within a culture that values excellence and professionalism in clinical care and learning through feedback. Within the spirit of a learning culture, then please feel free to advise the website development team (oxpsychforum@oxpsych.com) on what other information you would like to see on our site.

Finally, I wish to thank the members of the development team including Emira, Paras and Simon for bringing this project into being.
